After-hours gaps

These are my notes on a gap type known as after-hours gap.

After-hours gaps are gaps formed when the post-market closes and the pre-market opens.

• Price jumps from the post-market close to the first pre-market print.
• It forms in the thin after-hours session.

This is not to be confused with over-night gaps. Over-night gaps are gaps that forms between the regular market close and the pre-market opens.

Traders group it under overnight gaps, yet the precise label is after-hours gap.
