These are my notes on the file naming convetion I will use for my trading charts.
Use a fixed, logical order from broad to specific. Use hyphens for separators and underscores for sub-details. Keep consistent casing. Example format:
<symbol>-<startDate>-<endDate>-<chartType>-<timeRange>-<timeInterval>-<indicators>
Definitions
- symbol: Stock or asset ticker (e.g., SPY, AAPL).
- startDate / endDate: Use ISO format
YYYY-MM-DD. - chartType:
line,candle,bar,average. - timeRange: Overall chart coverage (e.g.,
1Y,6M,5D). - timeInterval: Chart’s resolution (e.g.,
1m,5m,1h,1D). - indicators: List up to three, separated by
_(e.g.,EMA50,VOL,PIV).
