- Visited the terrific cyclorama, The Battle of Atlanta
- Verified the cyclorama presentation is captioned.
This is an amazing exhibit well worth the price of admission. It’s one of the only two fully restored cyclorama on public display in the USA. The other one is at Gettysburg which is also well recommended.
I’m so glad I got to see the last of these two fantastic mediums of illustrating a pivotal moment in history. Also, major props to the museum for making it accessible with captions. Without it, I would have never known the amusing tidbits about what happened to the painting over the years.

- Set aside 1 – 2 hours to fully appreciate the museum
Our host, Smith College Museum of Art (SMCA), invited us to enjoy a terrific exhibit, Black Refractions: Highlights from The Studio Museum in Harlem. While it was Vicky’s second visit to this museum, it was my first time. Vicky told me it was a pretty good museum and I agree with her. The quality of the artwork on display was excellent. It was a pleasant surprise to see they provided audio transcripts for some of the videos without captions.
Due to bad weather traffic delays, we arrived here an hour before checking in to our hosted bed & breakfast. In hindsight, I would encourage you to plan at least 2 hours to fully appreciate all the exhibits at a leisurely pace. This includes at least 15 minutes for parking.
